A road winding through the folds of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains
A manifesto from the Original Siroccans

It began
with a road.

Before the name. Before the starting line.
Three people, a restless idea, and a country
we wanted the world to truly meet.

01 / The spark

A country is
more than
a backdrop.

For the Morocco that lives
between the destinations.

Dear future Siroccan,
There is a Morocco you can photograph. And a Morocco that stays with you long after you put the camera away.

The cup of tea that makes you forget the time. A hand lifted from the edge of a village. The city falling quiet behind you. The Atlas slowly loosening its hold, until the horizon belongs to the desert.

For years, we watched extraordinary automobile events cross this country. We heard their promises of adventure, discovery, connection. And we kept returning to the same feeling: so much of what mattered was still being passed by.

Morocco was already giving everything. Its roads. Its mountains. Its hospitality. Its glorious, impossible changes of mood. We wanted to build a rally that knew how to receive it.

To travel through a place is one thing.
To let it become part of you is another.

That was our beginning. A frustration, yes. But underneath it, a kind of love. And the stubborn belief that we could make something worthy of the country carrying us.

02 / The making · Spring 2026

First, a line.
Then, a thousand
reasons to try.

In the spring of 2026, there were three of us. Mohamed. Khalil. Dounia. No name for what we were making. Only a feeling for what it could become.

We drew routes. Erased them. Drew them again. We called hotels, counted kilometres, argued over roads. Cities arrived on the map, disappeared, returned. Slowly, a line began to look like a journey.

Then came the work nobody would photograph. The budgets that refused to balance. The documents rewritten for the tenth time. Meetings in cafés, in offices, inside cars. Fifteen minutes becoming an entire evening.

Thousands of messages. Late nights folding into early mornings. A problem solved, three more waiting. And enough coffee, perhaps, to fuel the rally itself.

Everything changed. Except the reason we were doing it.

The day the idea found its name

Sirocco.

A wind from the Sahara.
A little of the desert, carried beyond itself.

Two words appeared in the middle of a conversation: Rallye Sirocco. And something that had lived between us suddenly had a name we could give to the world.

The domain followed. The identity. The website. The first presentations. An idea was becoming movement. Now came the harder part: asking someone else to believe in a starting line they could not yet see.

On the other side of silence

Hundreds of noes.
A few extraordinary yeses.

“We believe
in this.”

Sometimes, that is enough
to begin again.

Presentations sent into silence. Messages read, unanswered. Doors that opened just enough to let hope in, then closed. We’ll come back to you. Sometimes they did. Most of the time, they didn’t.

There were days when the distance between the rally in our heads and the one in the world felt impossible to cross. Days when stopping would have been the sensible thing.

But we did not need everyone. We needed a few.

A few people who answered. A few who pulled up a chair. Who could imagine the cars before the cars were there, the South through a windscreen, the first crew leaving Marrakech.

One yes became another call. One open door became the courage to knock again. One person believing was sometimes enough to make all three of us believe again.

There was no miracle morning. Only small victories, gathered carefully, until an idea began to stand on its own.

An idea needs a language before it can travel. Through its image, communication and partnerships, Khalil helped the rally step out of the room where it began, giving others something they could recognise, understand and believe in.

Every open door begins with a person. Dounia brought the idea into new rooms, built relationships, made introductions, and gave Sirocco a human presence beyond its first circle of believers.

We did not always agree. We never needed to be the same.
We needed to keep building, together.

Enthusiasm can see a horizon.
Experience can see what it will take to reach it.

Abdelouahed Ettoubaji stood behind the project when it was still fragile. His advice, his criticism, his experience and his belief asked more of us. He questioned the easy answer. Challenged the beautiful idea. Reminded us that the rally had to work, survive the unexpected, and deserve the trust placed in it.

Sometimes the greatest support is neither a cheque nor a solution. It is the confidence to take the next step. He gave us that.

Mohamed Birouaine also joined us in those early days, bringing his perspective, knowledge and support as an idea between friends grew into an organisation.

And then there are the people whose names may never fill a page. The friend who shared a number. The family who listened, again. The supplier who found a way. The volunteer who asked, “How can I help?”

Some gave months. Some gave thirty seconds. One introduction can do what a hundred emails could not. We carry those moments with us.

The first three names. Never the last.

We began it.
We are not its boundaries.

We wanted to make something people could belong to.
Something they could carry further than us.

04 / The promise

Let the road
leave something
in you.

For the conversations that outlast the light.

Yes, there will be precision. Navigation. Teamwork. The quiet satisfaction of getting it right.

But a regularity rally can hold more than a classification. We want the places between the famous places to matter. The people we meet to be part of the story. A day’s driving to leave room for laughter, fatigue, hospitality, surprise.

  1. I

Meet the country.Let Morocco be the heart of the experience: its culture, its communities, its everyday life.

  2. II

Honour the journey.Care about the road between destinations as much as the arrival. Give the unexpected a place in the memory.

  3. III

Carry it forward.Build a rally that can grow beyond its first three names, shaped by everyone who gives something of themselves.

Arrive with more than a result.
Arrive with something you will remember.

December 2026 · A starting line waiting in Marrakech

The most beautiful part
has not happened yet.

As we write this, the first Rallye Sirocco has not yet taken place. No finish-line photograph. No old traditions. No favourite stage that everyone remembers differently.

Soon, the spreadsheets will become kilometres. The names on forms will become faces. The calls will become handshakes. The line on a screen will become mountains, villages and dust through a windscreen.

We do not know which stranger will become a friend. Which wrong turn will become a joke. Which moment you will still be talking about ten years from now.

That part belongs to you.

An open letter. An unfinished story.

We are all
Siroccans.

From frustration, an idea. From an idea, a road.
From a road, a name. From a few believers, a rallye.

We have written the first pages.
The rest will be written on the road.
